Formed from current and former members of the Chesapeake Fine Arts Commission, Elevate Arts Chesapeake was formed as a 501c(3) non-profit corporation for the advancement and enrichment of the arts in the city of Chesapeake, VA.  The Fine Arts Commission is a City Council Committee to advise and administer grant funds coming from the City of Chesapeake, however, this created a limitation in that it could not raise additional funds from outside sources.
